The culture of markets in London is something special. I have been to Camden Market, Portobello road market, Old Spitalfields markets and Brick lane. However, my absolute favourite is Columbia flower markets.
The best time to go is in the morning after the stalls have been set up. It is quiet and you can grab a coffee whilst roaming from stall to store to look at the flowers. By 11am, the streets are packed.
The way the stalls are set up creates the illusion of a small village/town. People selling flowers like real estate agents selling a house reminded me of the olden days and people used to barter for their essentials.
Flowers of all kinds flourishing under the humid English sun, at midday the swell of crowds changed the morning crisp and lonesome mood.
It was mesmerising looking at the a ray of colourful flowers that had such strong scents. I could spend all day taking photos and smelling of all the flowers.
